I’ve some news about a new addition to our family. His name is Billy and I think it’s fairly clear that he isn’t a dog!
I’m blogging about him of course. And he is very photogenic so I’ve splashed out on new camera. All I need to do now if figure out what all the buttons are for!
Hopefully you are not too appalled at my defection to the ‘dark side’. And happily most of my dogs love him!
I managed to give myself an over-training injury in the summer which has put paid to any walking this side of Christmas. (I’ll probably write about it at some point, when it seems less annoying).
But suffice it to say, Billy’s appearance was partly by way of consolation for missing most of the shooting season, and partly by way of a birthday present.
Our last cat lived to the grand old age of eighteen and is fondly remembered, apart from the sock drawer incident (not my sock drawer I hasten to add).
I keep pointing out to Himself that if a cat is going to be sick, there are worse places…
We’ve been a while now without a cat as, despite a few ruined socks, Gadget was pretty special and a hard act to follow. And it’s a very long while indeed since I last raised a kitten.
I have to say I am blown away by how much I am enjoying him. We are all completely smitten!
Billy is news I’ve been keeping fairly quiet about until now as for the longest few weeks, I thought I was going to have to give him up.
But, fortunately the story had a happy twist, and if cats are your thing, you can read about it here on Billy’s blog.
This also serves as a kind of introduction to a new website that Lucy and I have been working on for a few months! Hope you like it.
I’ve also recently completed my fourth book – more news of that after Christmas. Which I believe is drawing uncomfortably close..
I hope you’re feeling in control. If it’s any consolation, I’ve only bought two presents so far. I’d better get on with it!
Not sure how christmas trees and kittens are going to work out. But no doubt we’ll cope.
Looking ahead to the new year, I’ll be getting as many free review copies of the new book as I can for my email subscribers, so do let me know if you’d like to write a review and I’ll try to get you a copy.
